The problem: Mailman 2 archives are useless for searching, and you cannot post from them.
I need help in figuring out the best way.
Solution 1: Bring the email list into the forum.
Unclear points:
a) I have and email list on Mailman https://gale-sig.org/mailman/listinfo/galemembers_gale-sig.org
b) Have another one as well https://gale-sig.org/mailman/listinfo/galeexec_gale-sig.org
Both installed by CPanel
--> Do I need to create two separate forums, as I read? I have one here that I just set up-->
https://turnlefthosting.org/gale-forum/index.php
It seems like I have to have a completely different forum for each list?
---> I pre-made topics. But if I important from the Mailman list, where do they go? Just one big topic?
---> If so, it is not very good because I would like people to organize things like a forum. In that case, maybe better to give up the piping to email and do the reverse way, SOLUTION 2
Solution 2: Create the forum as I have in the example https://turnlefthosting.org/gale-forum/index.php
---> If I do that, I send the forum to an email list?
---->(It seems like, if I am reading it correctly, SOLUTION 2 is more efficient. But the instructions here are impossible to understand for me. Is it a waste of time?
---->It seems like to pipe a mailing list (SOLUTION 1) I need to answer these questions.
Mailbox from which to load and delete messages. Leave empty to pipe messages into the forum (recommended).
Mailbox Server Name:
Mailbox Username:
Mailbox Password:
Mailbox Type:
All the other questions below that are also not clear for a newbie like me.
But none of this seems to be found in https://gale-sig.org/mailman/listinfo/galemembers_gale-sig.org
------>And what instructions do I follow for SOLUTION 2, forwarding a forum to a mailing list? Same Mailing list manager? Solution 2 assumes i do NOT want to import a mailing list but EXPPORT to a mailing list so people can answer by email instead of going to the forum
Can anyone walk me through it? I am not a technical person, but if someone explains the steps for Solution 1 VS solution2, I can follow I think. (I may have to ask my hosting provider as this is all via CPanel,
