Patches are welcome, but I'm not going to fix it.
The obvious workaround is to ensure that you GLOBALS.php file is properly protected at filesystem level.

PS: If someone unauthorized has access to you configuration files, you have far bigger problems than your passport being leaked. Such a person can basically do anything with your installation.
