So does this mean that if the the core templates change at all in any future new version, we will lose our customizations?

I had a post on this before - just about each version since 2.0 has destroyed my templates.

We need a way to retain our custimizations. I cringe at the thought of anyone who has done extensive custom work and has to re-enter everything, style by style. Shocked
