After a recent server switch I noticed that the forums data dump size and the size of the downloaded backup varied widely in size.

Current Data dump size says 59390214 bytes (which stays consistent) and the last backups downloaded were in the 55,781 kb range.

However after downloading I'm now getting sizes which vary wildly ie: 215 kb, 217 kb, 2,007 kb, 8,398 kb, 12,261 kb, 38,516 kb etc.

Any ideas on why this is? It's occurring on only one forum.

I've tried on all my forums, but are unable to reproduce.
Sounds more like a problem with your server or connectivity to it anyway.

Same here! This occurred in conjunction with my host switching servers, but only affected one of 5 forums hosted.

So I'm guessing it has something to do with the server switch, I've closed posting and will restore from a recent backup.
