Just installed FUD 3.0.4RC1

Set up smart notification, added two members to post, each subscribing to the forum and topics, yet no notifications are being sent to either email when a post is made.

Anyone else have this issue with the above release?

Many thanks

A

Any mail related errors in your forum's Error Log Viewer?

None that pertain to the lack of mail.

Only two errors, both flood errors, though that was me testing, so set flood lower time now

What i do get if i press Mass Email is the following....

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /homepages/20/d**********/htdocs/******/adm/admmassemail.php on line 52

That appears as the only error and as it is email related has me thinking.

New members do get emails though for conformation on signup

Thank you for replying so quickly

No errors means that your system accepted the mail for delivery. If your system cannot deliver mail, configure FUDforum to use an SMTP server.

To demonstrate the problem, try this:
<?php
   mail('your(at)mail(dot)com', 'Test mail', 'Message delivered?');
?>

Ok your code works and i receive a mail from the host, not the forum.

Begin forwarded message:

From: CGI-Mailer <cgi-mailer(at)kundenserver(dot)de>
Date: 19 May 2012 19:27:10 GMT+01:00
To: adrian*****.com
Subject: Test mail

Message delivered?

I have also setup the SMTP and that does not work either.

Tis an odd one.

In that case the forum should also be able to send mail.
Have you checked your spam forum as well?

Yes, I use one email with no spam catch facility and one with.

Both on different providers. This was to see if it did get caught in spam while testing .

The only error is the parse error on the Mass Email button and the lack,of email notifications.

Maybe a fresh install as I have not created too many forum topics yet?

You can install 3.0.4RC2 (the mass e-mail error is fixed in RC2).

Notifications should work if correctly configured. They work on this forum as well as on all my personal forums.

Thank you,

just did an uninstall, downloaded fresh install from Sourceforge this morning

Two items, Mass Mail Working, Notifications working.

It would not install at all initially, as had Stack Overflow Out of memory message on second page of install using PHP Version 5.4

Dropped PHP version to 5.2 and this time disabled magic quotes

FUDforum: 3.0.4RC2
PHP: 5.2.17
Database: mysql 5.0.91-log (mysql)
Operating system: Linux infong 2.4 #1 SMP Tue Jan 17 02:58:41 UTC 2012 i686 GNU/Linux Linux infong 2.4 #1 SMP Tue Jan 17 02:58:41 UTC 2012 i686 GNU/Linux

And it installed perfectly and mail notifications working perfectly, though Smart notifications seem a bit random at the moment, though still playing with settings.

Thank you for your help!
