My members can make and edit their posts, but we have a need for members to be able to delete only their own post, is this possable??

That is an unusual request. It won't be too difficult to add, but it may be better if users report messages they want deleted (or edit and clear the out), and assign one or more moderators to handle delete requests.

I agree that allowing any user to delete their own messages without control may lead to very hard to manage forums (e.g. A: "User B said this and that!", B deletes the post and then goes "Where is the proof, A?").

Either a moderation queue for deletion, or lazy deletion (just mark the message as delete but keep it there for a while) would be much better IMHO.
