Hi,
I read in the manual about NNTP and news servers, but I know so little I still have a question. Does the NNTP ability mean I can also connect directly to FudForum with a news reader, such as Gravity, Agent, or Virtual Access. And use this to read and post, without going through a news server?
The reason I ask is I am looking for a way to let people use offline readers with a web forum, and news readers seemed like the best way.

You cannot connect to FUDforum via an NNTP client. However, you can make FUDforum send any messages posted on the forum to the NNTP server, allowing people to effectively read forum messages via that NNTP server using NNTP client.
