When I "Make forum datadump" and I then use Fud's file manager, the manager reports the resulting file as say "51828 KB", and when I try to download that file in firefox, firefox reports the same size. BUT, the download completes at say 4,508,063 bytes, and while I can "unzip" the resulting file, the inside file reads 17,255,954 bytes. This behaviour makes me a bit nervous.
So I un-check "Use Gzip Compression" and make another datadump and Fud makes me a new *fud.gz file.
Is this correct behaviour? Am I not seeing something?
I'm using FUDforum 2.7.4 BTW.
Thanks so much for all your work though!

Use the forum's file manager to browse the forum's tmp/ directory and see what it reports as the file size. If the file size is 50 megs it means your webserver may have a problem sending large files and you need to download this file via FTP. If the file is smaller, it may imply a forum bug, in which case let me know and I'll look into it.

The gz extension is not automatically removed, so even though the file is uncompressed the extensions is there. If you want it gone, manually remove it from the file name when making the backup.
