Which file (and which lines in it) do I have to edit to change the default settings for users imported from a ML?

I mean the settings that are available in the Preferences section of the Account settings page of the Control Panel for each user (notificatios on/of, email on/off, etc..).

Basically I want to change it, that ML imported users have different default settings than normal registered users, for example i want them to have PM and Email off by default.

Thanks, is that specific for ML imported users or is it a single default setting for all new users (i.e. i can't set it differently for ML imported users)?
