So, I'm running an HTML FUDforum and everything seems to work great except for one thing. Basically what I do is instead of using nl2br I use pre tags to keep whitespace because nl2br makes quoting look ridiculous after a few quoted posts. My problem is that for a small group of browsers (pretty much only super old browsers as well as pre IE 8 and IE 8 or 9 in compatibility mode) have issues with word wrap not occurring. I've tried all the CSS on http://www.longren.org/wrapping-text-inside-pre-tags/ to no avail. The only thing I've found that works is to set a fixed width on posts but I don't really want to do that. Here's the weird part, I can get the text to wrap for older browsers outside of posts, just not in posts. Anyone know if there anything special about posts that would cause CSS pre word-wrapping not to work? Thanks.

CSS pre word-wrapping should work for all browsers that supports it.

You can also change the "Word Wrap" setting in the Global Settings Manager.
