Fatal Error when resetting password

Hello.
When I tried to reset password, I got the following error message.
Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: fud_smtp in /srv/www/data/forum/include/theme/default/iemail.inc on line 116
The class is defined in the srv/www/data/forum/include/theme/default/smtp.inc.
The goofy thing though, Is I'm not using the default theme. I made it a point to not touch the default theme, and my changes are all made in my own them. Is the admin control panel always using the default screen?
I have version 2.3.8.

The admin control panel will always use the default theme, because as far as the source code is concerned it is 'most reliable'. Since many admin panels could easily and irreparably break the forum if they use incorrect or improperly working code.
