I'm totally new to FUDForums so excuse the ignorance
When you click on Todays Messages, you see the actual messages, and above the link of the Topic it is contained in.
I find just looking at the message first without seeing it in the actual thread of the topic a bit meaningless and really difficult to follow. So I'm always clicking on the Topic link. But when there's a long list of messages, becomes difficult to do.
Therefore wouldn't it be better to only display a list of Topic Links as the default, rather than a list of the actual messages? Or can this be changed?
To Add: sometimes when I click on Todays messages, it says none, though I haven't looked at all of them. I have to press Home, and then click on Todays messages again in order for them to be listed?
thanks

The idea is that you won't not use Just the Today's messages filter but combine it with other filters like "unread messages" or subscribed "topics/forums".

Thanks for the info
I appreciate the thinking behind this functionality which is quite powerful. Though, I also think that simplicity is good too, esp. for users who aren't devoted to using discussion boards, and want one click functions
So just to confirm, there's no way to change this default view of Today's Messages to instead display the list Topics the messages are in?
My users are used to forum software which lists the topics with the new messages.
I understand that just because other forum software does do it, should not mean that FUD has to as well.
But could it be considered as a feature (or option set by admin) to add for FUD? I believe it would increase its usability for many users
EDIT: Ahh...I'm getting my head around the features. I notice that Message Navigator does almost what I ask for. The only thing it would need is also an option for selecting unread messages since my last visit, rather than only in terms of days. Could this be added as a feature please? (sorry I know, wrong thread for a feature request)
best regards

There are no plans in the way to change the message filtering or message navigator.
