Currently all additional line within [list][/list] is removed in the actuall message.
I think letting the user decide where he wants to make new lines would give him more formatting possibilities.

Looking at the code it seems FUDforum replaces <br /> (new lines) with spaces. I don't see why we need to retain that functionality, but I must admit I am a little weary of just going forward with the change this close to the final release.
Perhaps you can adjust your forum's post_proc.inc.t to not do this replacement and let me know if any issues arise from the change in actual user environment. If all goes well, something to definitely consider for the next release.
