I was given a forum to host locally. The forum has been up for some time and has wird group permissions. I tried to create a new thread but noone can see it. Every thread has a group listed for that thread. I want 5 user groups. Administrators Moderators Members Applicants and Unregistered. I am very confused how do I go about making these groups. The old ones listed are not deletable.
There are 2 different group admin spots. Under the admin panel and on any main page. Which one do I use and how do I use it. The documentation was no to clear.
I want each group to have access to certin forums.
Example
Public Forum - Everyone
Private Forum - Registered
Sub Private Forum - Registered but not applicants
so on and so forth.
Thanks

The first step is clean up the permissions of the existing groups and then set them up from scratch to do what you want them to do. You can reset permissions by setting the permissions bitmask to highest integer value.
