When I receive email from a fudforum thread, I get a From: header which is the person who made the post, and a To:header which is me.

This seems incorrect. It seems to me that that combination of headers suggests that the person who made the post tried to send an email to me personally. That happens even if they never actually interacted with email in any way.

I see two alternatives that would be better:
  1. (my preference) Use an email address associated with the forum in the "From" header.. It's not necessarily the case that the person who generated the post "sent an email", so putting their email address in this field seems incorrect.
  2. Use an email address associated with the forum in the "To" header. That still looks like the poster intended to send the message to the forum, instead of to an individual.
Thoughts?
