First thanks for your hard work.

I would like to configure my forums so that upon Login, certain defined groups of members can only see and participate in specific forums.

After reading the documentation and attempting to add a group to a FORUM:group, I have not been able to figure out how to accomplish this.

Also, can permissions be assigned by category?

Any help understanding the permissions would be helpful. Thanks.
