I've been using FUDforum for a few months now. My server (Linux/Apache v1.3.28) currently uses .htaccess files and RADIUS to authenticate users.

Upon successful authentication, their usernames are then automatically passed to the server's "REMOTE_USER" variable (or $_SERVER[REMOTE_USER] in PHP).

My question is this... has anyone developed a hack which would bypass the forum's login and just "trust" the .htaccess file? I'm new to PHP and MySQL and am having a hard time trying to implement something like this. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
