Please consider implementing the following FUDCode tags:

[search]xyz[/search] or
[search=xyz]...[/search]

[wiki]xyz[/wiki] or
[wiki=xyz]...[/wiki]

In admin control panel, allow configuration of WIKI and SEARCH URLs.

Search can default to the site's search facility, WIKI can default to wikipedia. Administrators can then change the URLs to point to (for example) google and their own wiki, etc.

If it would help, I can prepare a patch.
