Object not found error! [message #35615]

I had installed xamp..
when the link from the start.html is clicked it is redirected to an object not found page.
The error log has the following written in it-
[Thu Jan 25 15:54:28 2007] [notice] Parent: Created child process 3840
[Thu Jan 25 15:54:29 2007] [notice] Child 3840: Child process is running
[Thu Jan 25 15:54:29 2007] [notice] Child 3840: Acquired the start mutex.
[Thu Jan 25 15:54:29 2007] [notice] Child 3840: Starting 250 worker threads.
It seems that there is some other process running at port 80.I had uninstalled iis server before installing xamp.can anyone help?
